Kamran and Shahzad Made Come Back, Umar Is Dropped Over Fitness For West Indies Tour
On Wednesday March 15, PCB has announced ODI and T20 squad for West Indies tour 2017 containing many surprises for players and fans.
ODI Squad : Sarfraz Ahmed(c), Ahmed Shehzad, Kamran Akmal, Mohammad Hafeez, Babar Azam, Shoaib Malik, Asif Zakir, Hasan Ali, Wahab Riaz, Imad Wasim, Mohammad Amir, Junaid Khan, Fahim Ashraf, Fakhar Zaman, Shadab Khan, Mohammad Asghar.
T20 Squad : Sarfraz Ahmed(c), Ahmed Shehzad, Kamran Akmal, Mohammad Hafeez, Babar Azam, Shoaib Malik, Imad Wasim, Mohammad Nawaz, Sohail Tanvir, Wahab Riaz, Usman Khan, Fakhar Zaman, Hasan Ali, Shadab Khan, Rumman Raees,
The surprise here is former ODI caption Azhar Ali could not get a place in squad of any of these two formats for West Indies tour.
Kamran Akmal who is in tremendous form starting from Pakistan domestic league and PSL 2017, is called back to squad for West Indies tour. He was top scorer in PSL 2017 and in domestic tournament.
Ahmad Shahzad is another top order player who is returning to team after a long gap. He is being scoring and playing well in recent domestic tournament and PSL 2017.
Umar Akmal, who was an essential part of Pakistan T20 squad, is not included in any format. Cheif selector Inzamam-ul-haq told to press that Umar Akmal could not clear fitness test that is why he was not included in squad.
Another shock was for the leading wicket taker in PSL 2017, Sohail Khan. He is not included in ODI and T20 squad. According to sources, he had cleared fitness test but no one knows the reason of not getting him on board.
Muhammad Amir will be rested for T20 series and will be included in ODI squad.
Many youngsters are included in T20 and ODI squad according to recent performances in PSL 2017. This is a golden opportunity for these emerging players to perform and try to be a necessary part of the team.
These youngsters are Fahim Ashraf, Fakhar Zaman, Shadab Khan and Rumman Raees.
