Until then, from all of here, it’s goodbye!

Misbah: “You have to give credit to the opposition, they played really well. On the final day of a Test when the ball is turning and two good spinners are bowling, they played well. The spinners bowled well, were under pressure in the final session. Provided us with the breakthroughs when we needed. Abu Dhabi you can say was a bit slow and there was not that much of help. Dubai starts turning after the 2nd and 3rd day off the rough. In the first Test match, first innings I was not comfortable at all. But in the 2nd innings I spent some time in the middle and got a fifty, the rhythm came back. When you are out of international cricket for 2 to 3 months, it’s tough to come back and perform. It’s a great achievement (talking about Younis Khan). All about discipline and belief. His character and attitude about the game, he is a great role-model for us. I enjoy playing with him as he keeps the game moving. I can play my shots freely because he is there to take responsibility.”

Cook: “Obviously the morning of Day 3 cost us this game. 190 behind 7 wickets left, that collapse really cost us. The character we showed today, I think that’s the longest Pakistan have bowled in the fourth innings. Obviously disappointed not to get over the line. They are a fantastic bunch of players, lot of character, refused to buckle. The lower order – Mark Wood, Stuart Broad, Ben Stokes was real character. Disappointed that we couldn’t get over the line but again as I said that it was the third morning. I was half hoping the umpires would give us the light with nine overs to go just to even it up. We have competed in both the Test matches. Will be a great last Test in Sharjah. We shall have a couple of days off and back to it again. I want to thank the fans. Has been a tough five days for them, getting into the ground and leaving the ground. I am very proud of my fitness record. Jimmy Anderson told me to drink a glass of cement to toughen up, so I should be fine.”

Riaz: “Well it was a very important spell (on the third morning). We knew the importance of this game, thank god that everybody put their heart in and we won it. I always try to perform for my country. My teammates and management is always behind me keeping me focused. Credit goes to them. The spell to Watson in the World Cup gave me a lot of confidence and I realized my capability.”

Wahab Riaz is the Man of the Match for his match winning spell on Day 3 where he provided 3 key wickets.
